Laundry/Housekeeping Attendant

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Laundry Attendant to support the daily operations of our cosmetology school. This role is essential in maintaining cleanliness and readiness of classroom and clinic spaces by ensuring a consistent supply of clean towels, sheets, blankets, and other linens. The Laundry Attendant works closely with instructors and staff to anticipate classroom needs based on the school calendar, class sizes, and clinic flow, and performs light housekeeping duties as needed.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Laundry Operations & Stocking:

  • Collect soiled laundry from classrooms and clinics multiple times throughout the day.
  • Wash, dry, fold, and neatly organize linens including towels, sheets, and blankets.
  • Stock classrooms and clinic spaces multiple times daily and ensure they are fully prepared for both day and evening classes and services.
  • Maintain inventory of linens and notify management of low stock or replacement needs.
  • Adjust stocking and laundry collection schedules as class sizes, graduation dates, or program offerings change.

Communication & Coordination:

  • Communicate regularly with instructors and front desk staff to ensure each room is properly stocked for planned lessons, services, or guest events.
  • Stay updated on curriculum changes, new class launches, or changes in student clinic demand to ensure proactive preparation.

OTHER DUTIES

Light Housekeeping (As Needed):

  • Perform basic cleaning tasks, including:
    • Dust surfaces in classrooms and clinic areas
    • Wipe down countertops and shampoo bowls
    • Empty trash bins
    • Restock restroom supplies (toilet paper, soap, paper towels, etc.)

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous experience in laundry, housekeeping, or custodial roles a plus  

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Strong organizational and time management skills Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

Regularly lift and/or move laundry bags or bins up to 25 pounds. Sometimes required to push laundry carts weighing up to approximately 25 pounds. Required to operate a washing machine and dryer. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The work is performed in a variety of environments including a typical school/salon/spa environment. Flexible and adaptable to changing needs based on academic calendar and clinic flow Availability of working evenings and weekends as needed. Work is performed in a variety of environments including but not limited to driving in the employees’ car, working in various locations. Daily local travel as necessary between the Rizzieri locations.
