Creativity manifests itself differently in everyone. Some people paint, some write. Some do needlepoint or build bird houses. And some embrace fashion, hair and makeup.
Often, creative outlets turn into hobbies or side hustles to a corporate job. But if you’re lucky enough to have a talent for hair, skin and nails, you can manifest your creativity into a fulfilling career.
Launch Yourself
Doing hair and makeup for friends is great, but if you’re serious about a career in beauty, your first stop should be a comprehensive cosmetology program to get your degree.
Rizzieri Aveda School was the first cosmetology school established in New Jersey in 1924 (then known as Rizzieri). With a dedicated team of instructors, we have an 86 percent completion rate, 69 percent placement rate and 99 percent licensure rate.
Our program incorporates 1,200 hours of extensive, hands-on learning to provide a complete understanding of beauty and wellness. It includes hair cutting, color, texture services, nail care, skin care, makeup application, waxing, retail knowledge, business development and how to engage/retain clients.

Once you’re in our program, you can explore all aspects of beauty including men’s grooming, extensions and wigs, lashes, makeup and more. This exposure to specialized services will give you a taste of everything beauty has to offer, helping guide you into the right beauty career.
Were you under the impression working in a salon is the only option after cosmetology school? Wrong!
